- Starving helps to weight loss- This is one of the most believed weight loss myth. Yes, it is good to eat less to lose weight but that does not mean starving yourself. If your current calorie consumes is 2000 calorie, reduce it to 1200/1000 calorie. This will help and for a better result do exercise but if you drop your calorie consumption to 800 or less from 2000, you will end up gaining more weight. Yes, in the crash diet you can cut your calorie intake to 500-700 but that is just for a short period of time. To get a long-term solution you need to eat healthy not to starve yourself. When you starve yourself your body goes into survival mode and starts to store more calorie than usual. Your metabolism rate also drops. So, when you start eating like normal days, you gain weight fast.
- Fat makes you fat- Another weight loss myth is that fat makes you fat, which is totally wrong. Fat alone cannot make you fat. If you consume too much carb, sweet and junk food Altogether they make you fat. When you consume any carbohydrate it breaks down into glycogen, which stores water inside your body and causes water weight. Fat does not make you fat. In fact, you can lose more weight with low-carb and high-fat diets, such as the Keto diet.
- You will lose weight if you have willpower- This is a big lie that we believe. Willpower helps you very little losing weight. How is that? Well, most people set up the expectation bar too high that is not achievable. So, when they fail to fit the expectation, they get frustrated and eventually give up. Losing weight is a long process and you have to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life. People try to lose lots of weight in a very short day. You didn’t get those extra fats in a day or month. So, how can you expect to lose them so quick?
- Weight loss is a linear process- Weight loss is not a linear process. Some days you will lose three or four pounds and some days you will add an extra two pounds and it is okay.
